2008 MONARCHS SOCCER ACADEMY CAMPS
Camp Philosophy
Our goal is to provide an environment where the campers have the opportunity to develop not just as soccer players but as individuals. We want them to have fun, make friends, and look upon their time playing soccer as a positive period in their lives.
Camp Staff
The soccer academy camps will be headed by HSC Director of Coaching Lew Potter. Coach Potter has put together a staff of current and former college players and experienced coaches for the youth camp. All staff members are specifically chosen for their knowledge of the game and their ability to work with young players. This ability, combined with our training curriculum, allows our staff to provide a great camp experience emphasizing fun and learning in a creative, challenging environment. Youth Soccer Camp (for house and travel players)
July 14-18, 9AM-12PM
Ages: 8 to 12, boys and girls Cost: $90
Designed to provide a supportive environment where players can develop their individual skills and understanding of tactics of the game. Groups are divided by age and ability to ensure an appropriate environment for a challenging and fun camp week. It is a soccer experience not to be missed!
Advanced Scholastic Soccer Camp
August 4-8, 9AM-12PM
Ages: 13-19, boys and girls Cost: $100
This program is designed for the serious, dedicated youth player with the desire to improve and progress to the next level. Our goal is for each player to leave camp understanding what skills, coaches are looking for in a player and how to better prepare themselves to make the next step. Our curriculum will emphasize technique, tactics, small-sided play and games similar to a college pre-season program. Players will be grouped according to age and ability to provide a challenging environment. Additional information on sports nutrition and personal pre-season training routines are included in the Advance program.

ADVANCED SCHOLASTIC CAMP STAFF
Nick DeMarsh
Nick DeMarsh is currently the head coach of Buffalo State's women's soccer program, and also served as an assistant with the men's program since 2004. His additional coaching experience includes 12 years tutoring boys and girls at Joe Macknick No. 1 Striker Camps as a "Striker Director". During his playing days, DeMarsh competed on the men's soccer team at Buffalo State for four seasons in the early 1990's, earning All-SUNYAC honors for three consecutive years and team MVP honors as a junior. Following his successful collegiate career, he played with the Capital City District Alleycats of the United Soccer League. DeMarsh holds a B Coaching License from the United States Soccer Federation.
Kelly Gillow
Kelly competed at the Division I collegiate level at University at Buffalo. She captained the team, during her senior year. Her collegiate coaching career began in 1998, as an assistant coach at Niagara County Community College. Gillow then assisted the DI Canisius College women’s soccer team for three years and went on to coach in the North Tonawanda school system. Kelly has been involved in youth coaching at the premier level since 1996, including a state championship team with Germania. Currently, Kelly is the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Genesee Community College and part of the NYSW ODP staff. Kelly holds her USSF National C license.
Rolfe Freidenberg
Rolfe has been playing/coaching soccer on a year-round basis for 22 years He played collegiately at Fredonia State ('93-'98) where he was the captain of the team in his senior year. Since college, Rolf has coached JV soccer at Frontier High School for two years, before leaving for the Kenmore School District where is currently coaching the JV Boys program. Rolf has helped instruct at soccer camps at Sahlen's Sports Park, and has worked with team training sessions on numerous occasions in the training center. Rolf holds a USSF D License.

Discounts: A $10 discount is available for campers who are currently enrolled in HSC House or Travel programs. Team/Group rates available.
